Houghton College Art Department

	Scholarships The art department of Houghton College has a limited number of tuition scholarships available for incoming freshmen interested in majoring in art. These scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate exceptional ability through the scholarship portfolio requirements. Awarded scholarships are good for one year, and are automatically renewed each year as long as the student is a declared art major. The scholarship portfolio requirement is an attempt to identify the strongest candidates for the awards, while at the same time giving everyone who wishes to submit an award request an equal opportunity to compete. Scholarships will be awarded as follows: $1,500 One to three awarded $1,000 Three awarded $ 750 Three awarded $ 500 Three awarded		The application will consist of a letter of application, a portfolio of five drawings, and ten slides representative of your best work. Write for more specific information. Submissions must be post-marked by mid March, and award announcements will be mailed within four weeks.
