Studios
The Stevens Art Studio building on the Houghton Campus is spacious and light-filled. This modern facility features cathedral ceilings in all the studios, as well as huge expanses of glass which allow the students to look out on the light, weather, woods, and fields just beyond. The building includes well-equipped areas for painting and drawing, a graphics lab with Macintosh computers, black-and-white and color darkrooms, a printmaking studio with litho and intaglio presses, a wood shop, a sculpture studio, and a ceramics studio with several kilns for a variety of techniques. Students also enjoy working in the loft areas above the studios or gathering together in front of the big stone fireplace in the commons area.
